With a win over Dominican University, the CSUMB women's soccer team earns a berth to the semi-finals of the Cal-Pac Conference playoff tournament. The win gives the Lady Otters the #2 seed in the tournament.
The 2-1 victory at CSUMB's Soccer Complex October 30 sees sophomore standout Brittani Donnachie score both goals as the Otters score early, then hold Dominican scoreless until the 75th minute of the match. The Lady Otters then take on Notre Dame de Namur University, the #1 seed, and Notre Dame's three second-half goals end CSUMB's season. The Lady Otters finish the year 11-9, after earning their second post-season appearance.
The CSUMB men's soccer team 1-0 win over a strong Notre Dame team earns the Otters their first Regional Championship berth. The Otters then take on Concordia University, with CSUMB being out-shot 13-2-ending its season with a very respectable 13-6-2 record and winning its first-ever California Pacific Conference championship. First-year coach Artie Cairel is named Cal-Pac Coach of the Year for his team's stellar performance.
