The Institute for Advanced Studies accepts new students for its Master of Arts in Education program. This is the first time a spring start has been offered for this program; previously it was only offered each fall. As the demand for teachers continues to rise, the popular program expands its admission schedules to meet the needs of schools in the Tri-County region.

"The program attempts to challenge you to think, create, reflect, examine your work and collaborate with colleagues in pursuit of practices that empower the diverse children of today's schools," said Christine Sleeter, program director. "This master's program is unique in that it's framed by a social justice and cultural pluralism perspective. Students learn research methods they can apply to create changes in their own professional environment, while exploring current educational issues in small seminar classes."
