Enrollment Growth of a "Cool School"
CSUMB welcomes its largest cadre of new students for the fall semester-about 1,400, including 700 new freshmen. The total student population is expected to reach 3,600. According to Valerie Brown, Director of Admissions and Records, "the majority of our first-time freshmen marked CSUMB as their first choice of colleges. Prospective students are recognizing the combination of a great location, talented faculty, individualized programs of study, rich diversity, and sophisticated technologies."
Together, it all adds up to what the September/October issue of Careers & Colleges magazine acknowledged: CSUMB is one of the 20 "cool schools" in the United States.
