President Smith accepts an award on behalf of CSUMB at a recent Monterey County Economic Development Commission (OEDC) meeting. The award recognizes the collaboration of the Community Foundation and KAZU to produce and broadcast the "Artist and Scholar" series.

University Advancement conceived the collaboration and produced the application that garnered the award. Nicole Mendoza, university relations coordinator (and CSUMB Class of 1999), and Kris Edmunds, director, corporate and foundation programs, wrote the successful application on CSUMB's behalf.
